On February 24, 2015 the Virginia Assembly passed House Joint Resolution No. 797 “Designating March 14, in 2015 and in each succeeding year, as a Day of Honor for the Marquis de Lafayette in Virginia.”
We will gather once again, for the 12th time in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
In the morning, we will start with the Lafayette Day ceremony in the Rotunda of the Virginia State House. The Virginia Statehouse houses the oldest elected legislative body in North America.
We will conduct a wreath laying ceremony in front of Houdon’s Lafayette bust and Washington's statue with French and American dignitaries present.
This is a FREE EVENT. Open to the public!
