Join the Lafayette Community Mending Circles!

In these FREE, pop-up workshops you'll learn to visibly & beautifully mend a favorite item of clothing.

We'll reinforce knees & elbows, add beauty to collars & hems, and enjoy the slow, meditative stitching of Sashiko. A Japanese textile tradition, Sashiko’s repetitive, simple stitching is both beautiful to wear & meditative to make. It provides strength, warmth, & decoration to worn & torn clothing.

Bring something that’s in need of repair. Non-stretchy fabric is best-denim, cotton, or linen.

Thanks to a grant from the Lafayette Downtown Development Authority - everything else will be provided!
