Arrival: between 5pm and 5:45 p.m.
In 1825 Monsieur Louis Sansay taught dance to the young people of Morristown. Upon Lafayette's return on his Farewell Tour, local citizens feted him with a banquet and dance demonstrations at the dance master's home.
On July 13, 2025 we reenact this ball at the c. 1806 Sansay House.
The ball will feature recipes from Mrs. Louise Macculloch's kitchen, who along with her daughter Mary Louisa, decorated the Sansay House with greens and flowers. There will be reenactors, the 13 Lafayette Farewell Tour toasts, and dancing.
Hosts will send out invitations in the spring.....
