Ladies Down Under is the middle play of Amanda Whittington’s ‘Ladies’ trilogy. IN the first play four likely lasses from the Hull fish docks on a day trip to the races
In Ladies Down Under we follow the four girls to Australia for the trip of a lifetime, spending their winnings. Jan is planning to meet up with her boyfriend Joe whilst Shelley dreams of luxury and glamour. After a bit of R&R on the Gold Coast they decide to go native and camp out under the stars at Uluru. Shelley soon discovers there’s more on offer than posh hotels, stunning beaches and sun-kissed surfers, Jan meets up with Joe and Pearl finds that she’s got a mountain of her own to climb.
The penultimate scene at the Mardi Gras in Sydney is where Linda discovers hidden talents of her own and the scene is heartwarming, outrageously funny & entertaining.
Ladies Down Under will be at the Bear Pit Theatre from 21 – 24 October at 7.30 each evening with a matinee performance at 2.30 pm on the Saturday.
