The Ludington Area Center for the Arts’ (LACA) Wednesday, July 17 LACA Summer Concert Series will feature a performance by Marshland Express.
Marshland Express features drumming veteran Randy Marsh as he and his band perform a mix of funky blues and soul-jazz.
The LACA Summer Concert series features a mix of jazz, blues, rock, pop and R&B performers every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. through Sept. 4, in downtown Ludington’s Waterfront Park.
Additional musical acts slated to take part in the 2024 LACA Summer Concert Series include, Marshland Express, July 17; Igor and the Red Elvis’, July 24; Dawn Campbell and the Bohemians, July 31; Joseph and the Velozians, Aug. 7; Jeff Haas’ ‘Big Fun’ Electric Band; Aug. 14; Men of Leisure, Aug. 21; Dave Keller Band, Aug. 28; and Beth Bombara Band, Sept. 4.
These FREE community concerts bring world class music to community members and the many visitors of our great area in a family friendly environment.
“Part of the art center’s vision is to foster a community where arts and culture bring us together, feed the creative spirit and fuel community growth, and this series does just that!” Skinner said. “What could be better than gathering with new and old friends on the lush grass of Waterfront Park and listening to world renowned musicians perform, while taking in a breathtaking sunset and the evening arrival of the S.S. Badger.
While the concerts are FREE to attend and open to the public, putting on this series is not free to the art center. LACA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on monetary donations to help fund its events and programs. Donations for the concert series are collected on-site during each concert. The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is a 501c3 Not for Profit that strives to foster a community where arts and culture bring us together, feed the creative spirit, and fuel community growth. Located at 107 S. Harrison St. in downtown Ludington, Mich. LACA offers monthly exhibits, with first Friday of the month opening receptions; and a wide assortment of performances and workshops. Art Shop 107 by LACA serves as the art center’s gift shop and features amazing original artwork from LACA members, perfect for gifts or home décor.
