Labor Day Parade

Celebrate the unofficial end of summer at the 88th Annual Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade, a beloved community tradition taking place on Monday, September 7, 2026, in Olde Towne Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Hosted by the City of Gaithersburg in partnership with the Gaithersburg–Washington Grove Fire Department, this historic parade has been bringing the community together for nearly nine decades with marching bands, antique vehicles, equestrian units, community organizations, dance groups, costumed characters, and more.

The parade begins at 10:00 AM and is followed by a free community celebration at Olde Towne Plaza and the Community Museum parking lot from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This year's festivities celebrate America 250 and the "power of place," featuring family-friendly activities, food vendors, and opportunities to connect with local organizations. Whether you're a longtime resident or visiting Montgomery County for Labor Day, the Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade offers a fun-filled morning for all ages.

• Celebrating the 88th Annual Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade, one of Maryland's longest-running Labor Day traditions.
• After the parade, enjoy a free community celebration at Olde Towne Plaza and the Community Museum parking lot featuring food vendors, family activities, and community exhibits from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM.
• Free parking is available at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (501 Perry Parkway), with complimentary shuttle service to Gaithersburg Elementary School between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM. The last return shuttle departs at approximately 1:30 PM.
• Accessible parking is available behind the Victor Litz store on Diamond Avenue and behind the Shell station on South Summit Avenue for vehicles displaying valid disability placards or plates.
• Spectators looking for shaded viewing areas can watch the parade along Russell Avenue, accessible via Odendhal Avenue from the transit station.
