What does it mean to stand still, and what does it take to keep moving?
Created by choreographer Selim Ben Safia in collaboration with visual artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke, Labes brings together five performers to explore vulnerability, resilience and the strength to resist stillness.
Drawing on Palestinian dabke, Tunisian rhythms and the viola da gamba, the performance brings movement and sound into dialogue with a scenography inspired by the memory of Jerusalem’s vanished Maghrebian Quarter.
