A hypnotic Live Cinema night where experimental music and silent film merge into a dark, sensory ritual.On May 2, LAB-1 presents the third edition of Live Cinema with Wanderwelle performs "Häxan" (1922).
During this special evening, audiovisual duo Wanderwelle will perform a brand new live soundtrack to the legendary silent film "Häxan". Sound and image intertwine, transforming the film into an intense and contemporary experience.
"Häxan" is a disturbing and visionary 1922 classic by Benjamin Christensen, filled with grave robbing, possession, and witchcraft. Blending horror, grotesque humour and documentary elements, the film remains eerie and mysterious.
Wanderwelle, the duo of Alexander Bartels and Phil van Dulm, works at the intersection of experimental music, film, photography and installation. They have gained international attention with vinyl releases, films and live performances, and are currently working on their first feature-length experimental documentary.
