Y-Not
The music of Y-Not is designed to validate authentic human experiences through empowering lyrics and diverse soundscapes. Based in Grand Rapids, MI, the 6-piece band interweaves elements of alternative rock, jam, funk, and ambient soul with its central theme - a heartfelt and daring quest for interpersonal truth and change. Y-Not’s music and its expression are inspired by multi-genre artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Lauryn Hill, Trevor Hall, The Grateful Dead, John Mayer, and Ripe. Their dynamic rhythm section coupled with a powerful foundation of acoustic guitar & vocals build up Y-Not’s sound to soaring heights achieved with the soloing virtuosity of the band’s keyboardist, violist, and electric guitarist.
