La Fémis @ London Film School
About this Event
Part of PRIFF 2026, now in its fifth year, La Fémis @ London Film School is a special programme presented at London Film School by PRIFF, bringing together a selection of short films from filmmakers connected to La Fémis, one of France’s leading film schools.
The programme showcases five distinct voices and approaches to contemporary storytelling. In one film, a 24-hour dance marathon becomes the setting for an unexpected connection between two competitors, as exhaustion, intimacy and ambition begin to blur together. Elsewhere, a 200-year-old vampire working as a cashier faces a disruption to the uneasy coexistence between humans and vampires when a teenage girl enters her shop.
The programme also turns towards the body, family and vulnerability. An afro hairdresser struggling with recurrent stomach pain is forced to take her health into her own hands after feeling unheard by the medical profession. A seven-year-old girl, caught between her separated parents on a hot summer day, decides to take matters into her own hands after receiving a haircut she hates. And in a high school preparing for a simulated terrorist attack, a student with low self-esteem is unexpectedly cast as the hostage-taker, forcing him into a role that begins to challenge how he sees himself.
Presented as part of PRIFF’s special international programming, La Fémis @ London Film School offers audiences the opportunity to discover emerging filmmakers through a curated selection of work that moves between romance, genre, social observation, childhood and darkly unsettling satire.
The screening will take place at London Film School, one of the UK's leading film schools, and will include a short introduction, followed by the film programme and a post-screening Q&A.
