LA Biotech Hike
Welcome to Our New Year’s Hike!
Kick off the new year with the LA Biotech Hiking Group, where we bring together the vibrant biotech community through our monthly hikes. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts in a relaxed and scenic environment. Feel free to bring your family, friends, and even pets as we explore new trails and engage in conversations that inspire collaboration and innovation.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, 1/11/25
- Time: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
- Location: Chantry Flat Recreation Area
- Meeting Time: 8:15 a.m. at the Chantry Flat Parking Lot
Trail Options:
- Sturtevant Falls Trail – Easy, dog-friendly hike with a 700 ft elevation gain (3 miles roundtrip).
- Trail to Sturtevant Camp – Moderate hike with a 2,500 ft elevation gain (8 miles roundtrip).
Total Distance: Approximately 11 miles
Duration: 3 to 4 hours
Parking: Requires an Adventure Pass ($5 for the day or $25 for the year) and a parking fee of $10.
What to Bring:
- Sun Protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)
- Snacks and water
- Sturdy hiking shoes
- Hiking poles
Safety Tip: Follow Leave No Trace principles by packing out everything you bring into the wilderness.
