Kyle VFW to Unveil NATIONS FIRST VFW Disaster Action Vehicle in partnership with the American Red Cross Delivering Mobile Relief Community Support, and Hot MealsKyle, Texas — March 6, 2026 (9:00 AM) — The Kyle Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will unveil its new Disaster Response Vehicle on Thursday, March 6, at 9:00 a.m. at the Kyle VFW Post, located at 107 Veterans Drive in Kyle, Texas.
Breakfast will still be served from 8am to 9am..
This unveiling marks a historic milestone as the Kyle VFW becomes the first VFW post in the nation to deploy a dedicated Disaster Response Vehicle, an initiative sparked by participation in the American Red Cross Community Adaptation Program.
The Disaster Response Vehicle sets a new standard for rapid, community-based disaster response while supporting local preparedness efforts.
Designed to serve multiple critical roles during emergencies and times of need, the vehicle will also function as a mobile free community closet, delivering clothing and essential supplies directly to veterans, families, and community members impacted by disasters or hardship. The vehicle is additionally equipped to provide hot meals and cookies, offering comfort, nourishment, and immediate support.
Built to respond to natural disasters, power outages, severe weather events, and other community emergencies, the Disaster Response Vehicle reinforces the Kyle VFW’s commitment to service beyond its walls, meeting people where they are, when they need help the most.
“This vehicle represents readiness, compassion, and leadership,” said Kyle VFW leadership. “The Red Cross Community Adaptation Program helped shape our approach, and this vehicle ensures no one in our community faces hardship alone.”
