Wednesday, October 14, 2026
6:30 p.m.
Kyle Railroad Depot
100 N. Front St., Kyle, TX 78640
Join us as we explore the people, places, and stories of the Kyle area before Kyle existed.
This month we will focus on 1860–1869 and continue our journey through local history, one decade at a time.
Everyone interested in Kyle-area history is welcome. There are no dues and no formal membership. You do not need to be a historian. Just bring your curiosity!
Help us discover the 1860s
Before the meeting, spend a little time looking for something connected to the Kyle area during 1860–1869.
You might:
-Search old newspapers online
-Look through the Portal to Texas History
-Browse books at the library
-Look for an old photograph, document, map or family record
-Search for information about an early family, business, school, church, farm, ranch or community
-Bring a family story or something else you have discovered
Found something interesting? Bring it with you and tell us about it!
You do not need to prepare a formal presentation. Even a few minutes sharing something you found can help us build a bigger picture of our local history.
Come share what you know. Discover what you do not. Help us keep Kyle-area history alive.
We hope you will join us!
