About this Event

Come Join Kweens and Kings Cycle to Anerley and Norbury Park!

Get ready for an epic morning, out in person with your favorite crew. Kweens and Kings Do Anerley and Norbury Park is where the vibes will challenge you, the company is lit, and the fun never stops. Whether you're a local or just passing through, come hang out, laugh, and make memories in the great outdoors. Don’t miss out on this cool meetup — it’s the place to be!

In this next phase, we want to step things up a bit especially as we are thinking of doing the London to Brighton ride on 21st June 2026. So this is the early build stages. Please check the relevant exercise programmes to assist with your preparations. This ride is not a long ride, but will give you an idea of how much you can grow and start to push yourself.

Where will we meet:

Meet outside Horniman Gardens 100 London Road SE23 3PQ at 7am. Please cancel your ticket in advance, if you are unable to attend.

The Route:

This a circular route. We will tackle Sydenham Hill and head for Crystal Palace Park, before going on to Anerley Park. This will challenge us a little, but puts us in good stead. From there, we will head towards Church Road and towards Norbury Park, via Beulah Hill and Norbury Avenue. We can take a break at any point. After passing Streatham Common, we will head back via Norwood/West Norwood crossing Leigham Court Road to Lancaster Ave. We will go through a section of Belair Park, passing by the Effra River before arriving at Dulwich Park. We will head back to F Hill, where the ride will end.

We intend to continue with the medium paced rides until around April, where we will step up to another gear before our big ride in mid June.

If the weather permits, possibly with a tea break somewhere along the route.

Who are we:

We ride as a group of people, mainly from an African and African Caribbean background and as cyclists we ride together regularly, often with a structured schedule and we have varying levels of abilities.

We aim to start when the weather is improving this could be as early as January or February. But sometimes it could be as late as March/April, with easier local rides to start the year off, and we increase the distance and go further afield, until November or December (if we are really lucky), and we have been riding together since November 2020.

Who is this ride for:

The ride is for adults only and we have a mixed ability within the group. We welcome new riders. On some of our rides, there is likely to be at least one hill, but we try to avoid them where possible. We will wait, if you can't make it all the way to the top without stopping and we are a supportive group. You can sign up for rides when they are published. However, if you wish to join Kweens and Kings Cycling Network, you will need to complete a registration form before you can be added to the WhatsApp group, and complete at least 6 rides over the course of the year to remain as a member.

If you click on 'follow' on this Ad, you will be notified of all future rides.

Are you ready for the road? If you are looking for a new challenge, come join us, we are waiting for you and you might just surprise yourself, to see what you can achieve!

What you should bring:

Your bike and helmet, appropriate attire for riding and weather conditions, and a smile.

We ride as a group, but please cycle carefully, and abide by the rules of the road. Your safety will be at your own discretion.

Please come prepared with inflatable tyre and/or pump.

Light fruits/snacks and water according to your preference. A travel card/cash.

Thank you
