Where will we meet

We are FREE TO RIDE TO DANSON HOUSE and will gather on Sun, 5th July 2026 at 9:00am outside Laurence House Car Park, by Canadian Avenue entrance, Catford SE6 4RU

Where will we from start:

From the car park entrance the route head towards Lewisham and on Belmont Hill.

Please cancel your ticket in advance, if you are unable to attend (please keep an eye out for the weather which may mean we need to change the schedule and will notify you).

We will cycle at a reasonable pace to Blackheath, via Belmont Hill. Head for Eltham Park Gardens and Rochester Way via S Row/Kidbrook Gardens/Westbrook Rd. This will be a beautiful scenic and leisurely ride. No pressure. If you have never done one of our rides, this is one not to be missed! A beautiful quiet route, for the most part.

At Falconwood Station we will continue our journey to Danson House. After admiring the views , a little wander near Danson Park & House, we could make a coffee stop/break here at Mansion Stables (there's outdoor seating). Or we can take the break at Woolwich Arsenal near the station(depending on the vibes/consensus). If we want to break at Woolwich we will roll via Welling, and Plumstead Common.

As this is a circular route, we will return via Thames path and end the ride at the Cutty Sark or Catford.

Who are we:

We ride as a group of people, mainly from a African and African Caribbean background and as cyclists we ride together regularly, often with a structured schedule and we have varying levels of abilities.

We aim to start when the weather is improving this could be as early as January or February. But sometimes it could be as late as March/April, with easier local rides to start the year off, and we increase the distance and go further afield, until November or December (if we are really lucky), and we have been riding together since November 2020.

Who is this ride for:

The ride is for adults only and we have a mixed ability within the group. We welcome new riders. On some of our rides, there is likely to be at least one hill, but we try to avoid them where possible. We will wait, if you can't make it all the way to the top without stopping and we are a supportive group. You can sign up for rides when they are published. However, if you wish to join Kweens and Kings Cycling Network, you will need to complete a registration form before you can be added to the WhatsApp group, and complete at least 6 rides over the course of the year to remain as a member.

What you should bring:

Your bike and helmet, appropriate attire for riding and weather conditions, and a smile.

We ride as a group, but please cycle carefully, and abide by the rules of the road. Your safety will be at your own discretion.

Please come prepared with inflatable tyre and/or pump.

Light fruits/snacks and water according to your preference. A travel card/cash.
