(Scroll down for English)Reedel, 11. aprillil kell 17.00 avatakse Tartu Kunstimaja väikeses saalis kunstirühmituse VEDELIK grupinäitus „Vedeliku kiiluvees”.
Rühmitus VEDELIK tekkis 1995.aastal. Nimevalimise koosolek toimus kohvikus Pegasus, kus osalejaid oli neli. Algusest peale on VEDELIKU tegevused peaaegu etteaimamatud ja liikmeskond voolav.
VEDELIK on varjatud mõõde, sest ta pole otseselt defineeritav: tihti tuleb järeldada või tuletada, võttes aluseks elemendid, mida ta korrastab või organiseerib. VEDELIK köidab erinevaid isikupärase stiiliga kunstnikke, koondades nad ühtseks tugevavooluliseks koosluseks. Liikmeks olemine on midagi loodusjõu sarnast, mis kihutab sind hetkega läbi ebarealistlike maailmade mõtete ja tegude virrvarri. Palju on tegemist tasakaalu leidmisega, iga uue näituse ja etteastega ollakse juba järgmises mõtteruumis. Voolu hetkeks peatudes ollakse kohal, siin ja praegu, hetk hiljem või ülehomme võib olla juba täiesti uutmoodi VEDELIKU kogemus.
Käesoleva näituse inspiratsiooniks on vool, voolamine, voolavus.
„Tavamõttes on lihtsam keskenduda tasastele, äraproovitud lahendustele. Riskantsem ning nüansirikkam on lasta end vahutaval, isepäisel voolul kanda. Vedeliku vahuses kiiluvees võid teha, mida soovid ja suudad sellest, mis sul (mõtteis) olemas ning ... heureka! – rohkem polegi õnneks vaja,“ selgitavad osalejad.
Näitusel osalevad: Mauri Gross, Eero Ijavoinen, Kristjan Juusu, Jane Kaas, Kristjan Kalde, Liis Karu, Erki Kasemets, Vilen Künnapu, Eneli Luiga, Luulur, Raija Merilä, Ulla Mölder, Evar Ritsaar, Meelis Salujärv, Argo Soodla, Sven Erik Stamberg, Martti Suurorg, Santa Zukker, Margus Tiitsmaa, Pille Vassar, Marge Viirg, Eva Vint, David Wilkinson

On Friday, 11 April at 5 p.m., the art group VEDELIK will open their group exhibition “In the watery wake of Vedelik” in the small gallery of the Tartu Art House.
VEDELIK was formed in 1995. The name selection meeting took place at the Pegasus café, where there were four participants. From the beginning, VEDELIK's activities have been mostly unpredictable, and its membership has been fluid.
VEDELIK is a hidden dimension because it is not directly definable: it often has to be inferred or deduced based on the elements it arranges or organises. VEDELIK attracts different artists with unique styles, bringing them together into a single, powerful ensemble. Being a member is like being a force of nature that instantly takes you through a maze of thoughts and actions in unrealistic worlds. It’s mostly about finding balance, and with each new exhibition and performance you're already in the next space of thought. By stopping the flow for a moment, you're present, here and now; a moment later or the day after tomorrow you can have a completely new VEDELIK experience.
The inspiration for the exhibition is flow, flowing, fluidity.
“According to conventional wisdom, it's easier to focus on slow, tried-and-true solutions. It's riskier and more nuanced to let yourself be carried by the foamy, headstrong current. In the foamy wake of VEDELIK, you can do whatever you want and are capable of with what you (in your mind) have and - eureka! - that's all you need for happiness,” the participants explain.
