Join art mediator Olena Iegorova for a free lunchtime guided tour of the current exhibitions at Luma Westbau.
The visit begins on the first floor (schwarzescafé / Luma Westbau) with the latest chapter of the Hans Ulrich Obrist Archives dedicated to the pioneering Austrian artist Maria Lassnig. Bringing together paintings, drawings, films and archival material, the presentation traces Lassnig’s radical exploration of bodily perception, self-awareness and artistic experimentation across more than seven decades of practice.
The tour continues on the second and third floors with REGIFT – 40 Years of Swiss Institute New York, a major anniversary exhibition co-produced by the Swiss Institute and the LUMA Foundation. Originally conceived in 2009 by curators John Miller and Piper Marshall, the project has been reactivated as a reflection on four decades of the Swiss Institute’s curatorial practice. Expanding on themes of gift exchange, reciprocity and systems of value, the exhibition unfolds as a layered constellation of more than fifty artists across generations and geographies, highlighting the Swiss Institute’s role as a platform for experimentation and transatlantic exchange.
