Spread across 13 acres of Dharavi, Kumbharwada is home to nearly 5,000 families of potters (Khumbhars) who migrated from Gujarat in the mid-1900s in search of a better life. Today, the fifth and sixth generations of these artisans continue to showcase their skill and artistry, creating diyas and earthenware especially cherished during Diwali. On 12th October, let’s take a glimpse into their world through our lenses.

📷 And remember: don’t limit yourself to specific places. As Elliot Erwitt once said, “Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
So just walk, observe, and let the photos come to you.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
