Kṣitigarbha whose name means "Earth Store" or "Essence of the Earth," is a bodhisattva associated with boundless compassion and the vow to aid all sentient beings trapped in suffering, especially those in the hell realms.
He is best known for his profound vow: not to attain Buddhahood until all beings are liberated. Because of this, he is seen as a tireless saviour of the most tormented and abandoned souls, choosing to remain in samsara to alleviate suffering where it is most intense. His compassion is deeply grounded, like the earth, enduring and supportive.
Khenpo Lekshey is a fully qualified Tibetan Sakya Buddhist Master, from Sakya Monastery in Dehradun, India who has been coming to the west for over 40 years to promote the Buddha Dharma and lead beings away from ignorance.
