A Water is the Sun Mkl Anderson (Drekka) és Adam Parks (Timber Rattle / Lightning White Bison) elkerülhetetlen egyesülése. Együtt fő projektjeik alkímiai ötvözetét játsszák, ami olyan filmes / tájképi textúrákat eredményez, amelyekből lassan születnek pszichopastorális és intonált rituális dalok; egy zene, amelyet ugyanúgy inspirálnak a nyugati parti kultuszok áhítatos énekei és az appalache-i himnuszok, mint a sötét new age és az ambient rezonancia az a kísérleti szcénából, amely évek óta befogadja és támogatja mindkét zenészt.

Water is the Sun is the inevitable union of Mkl Anderson (Drekka), and Adam Parks (Timber Rattle / Lightning White Bison). Together they play an alchemical amalgam of their primary projects, resulting in cinematic / landscape textures that give slow birth to psyche-pastorals and intoned ritual songs; a music as informed by the devotional chants of West Coast cults and Appalachian hymns as it is by the dark new age and ambient resonance of the experimental scene that has embraced and supported both musicians for many years.

A kiállítás KristofLab egy évtizedes művészeti munkásságának eredménye, mellyel keretezi az általa feldolgozott témákat és egy nagyobb összefüggésbe helyezi azokat a múlt-jelen-jövő tengelyén. A monumentális installációk, videók és festmények a tőle megszokott provokatív, olykor sokkoló módon azokat a jelenségeket járják körül, melyek az embereket kollektív félelemmel és bizonytalansággal töltik el napjainkban. Az emberiség tömeges kipusztulásától való szorongás, a nálunk nagyobb hatalmak sötét szándékaitól való félelem a múltban jellemzően vallási magyarázatot kapott, a modern civilizáció azonban a tudományra hagyatkozik. De mi van akkor, ha a tudományba vetett bizalmunk megrendül? A korábban tényekként számon tartott információk és magyarázatok, a megbízható forrásokba és a biztonságba vetett hit, melyeknek a közös alapot kellene jelenteniük, megingott. A háborútól való félelem újra mindennapos. A bizalomvesztés káoszt és félelmet szül olyan dolgok irányába, amiket nem értünk. Hogyan bízhatunk a jövőben, melyet olyan technológiák és folyamatok rajzolnak ki, amelyeket nem értünk? Saját árnyékunk és a múlt negatív tapasztalatai előtt megtorpanva bizalmatlanságunk alternatív magyarázatokat szül, összeesküvés elméleteket és conteókat, melyek megragadhatóvá teszik az ijesztő mértékben változó világot. De hol a határ valóság és fikció között az AI korában? KristofLab kiállítása egy társadalmi szembenézésre hív minket, mielőtt a talaj végképp kicsúszik a lábunk alól.

The exhibition is the result of a decade of KristofLab’s artistic practice, framing the themes he has explored and placing them within a broader context along the axis of past–present–future. The monumental installations, videos, and paintings examine—through the artist’s characteristic provocative and at times shocking approach—those phenomena that currently fill people with collective fear and uncertainty. Anxiety over the mass extinction of humanity and fear of the dark intentions of powers greater than ourselves were historically explained through religion; modern civilization, however, relies on science. But what happens when our trust in science is shaken? Information and explanations once regarded as facts, along with faith in reliable sources and in security—elements that should form a shared foundation—have been destabilized. Fear of war has once again become part of everyday life. The loss of trust generates chaos and fear toward things we do not understand. How can we trust a future shaped by technologies and processes we do not comprehend? Hesitating before our own shadow and the negative experiences of the past, our distrust produces alternative explanations—conspiracy theories and conteos—that render an alarmingly fast-changing world graspable. But where is the boundary between reality and fiction in the age of AI? KristofLab’s exhibition invites us to a collective confrontation before the ground completely falls out from underneath our feet.
