This messy play session is perfect for little ones aged 6 months to 4 years, with a mix of wet and dry sensory activities for them to explore at their own pace.
Wet messy play examples: water, custard, yoghurt
Dry messy play examples: shredded paper, moon dough, cereal
The room will be fully set up with plastic matting so children can safely explore the different textures. Some activities will be wet, sticky or slippery, so please keep a close eye on your wee one as they move around.
Messy play is meant to be… well, messy!
For younger children, stripping down to a vest and nappy works brilliantly. For older ones, light clothing like shorts and a t‑shirt is ideal. A full change of clothes is highly recommended - no one wants to take home a soggy tot - and a small towel is handy for drying off.
Adults, you might get messy too! Most parents find it easier (and more fun) to kick off their shoes, roll up their sleeves and embrace the chaos. Kids absolutely love it when their grown‑ups join in.
Adult participation is encouraged throughout. While I make sure all activities are suitable for the age range, you know your child best - especially if they’re unsteady on their feet or tend to explore with their mouth. Everything used in the session is edible, but please make me aware of any allergies beforehand.
