KR3TS Dance Company (Keep Rising to the Top) proudly presents:
“BREAKIN' THE CODE"
Rooted in Spanish Harlem, Violeta and her next generation of choreographers will debut new works that blend various dance styles. With a legacy spanning four decades and over 5,000 alumni in all areas of dance, experience the virtuosity of KR3TS and the transformative power of dance.
“BREAKIN' THE CODE" is a powerful and thought-provoking production that will feature original works by eight choreographers, with each piece inspired by the work of select elected officials and community leaders who will be in attendance to be honored at the event. Each work is intentionally aligned with social justice, reflecting the critical issues these leaders have fought for, defended, and advocated for—and the realities of the world we live in today—brought to life through movement, storytelling, and collective awareness.
The show explores systems that have long been disguised as peace—structures built on control, separation, and illusion.
Through movement, choreographers and dancers create their own worlds inspired by social justice, revealing how these systems begin to crack and crumble over time. The audience witnesses the cost of division, the pain of disconnection, and the moments when truth can no longer be ignored. As the layers fall away, people begin to awaken—recognizing their power, reclaiming their voices, and choosing unity over fear.
This is a story of transformation—from illusion to awareness, from chaos to connection, from silence to collective action. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, the possibility for change still exists when people come together to create, to resist, and to build the peace they want to see.
