About this Event
Jimin Bae is a Busan-born contemporary artist and educator specializing in Korean ink wash painting (Sūmūk) and Hanji (traditional handmade paper). Currently a Professor of Fine Arts at Pusan National University, she guides the next generation of artists to explore and embrace tradition and modernity, as well as the intersection of nature and the urban landscape.
Throughout a prolific career, she has held 15 solo exhibitions, most recently a showcase in New York City in November 2025. A notable milestone includes being an invited artist for the 2020 Busan Biennale, where they installed a monumental 1,000-inch ink painting and provided the illustrations for the exhibition’s literary collection. With a record of participating in over 400 group exhibitions, Jimin Bae remains a vital figure in the evolution of contemporary Korean art.
