As geopolitical competition intensifies across the Indo-Pacific, security on the Korean Peninsula is increasingly tied to broader regional and global dynamics. At the center of this landscape is the enduring ROK–U.S. alliance, which continues to evolve beyond conventional deterrence into a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at ensuring regional stability, economic security, and peace.

This session will examine South Korea’s foreign and defense policy within this expanding regional framework. Our expert panelists will discuss the strategic evolution of the ROK–U.S. alliance, diplomatic efforts to address North Korean security threats, multilateral security cooperation, and potential pathways toward long-term peace on the Korean Peninsula and across East Asia.
