About this Event
Join us at Texas Christian University for Korean Dream: From Escape to Empowerment — Human Rights, Freedom, and the Path to Peace, an evening featuring North Korean escapee and human rights advocate Hyunseung Lee.
Lee will share his personal journey from life inside North Korea—including his service in the DPRK army and experience working in international trade—to the pivotal moment that led him and his family to escape the regime. Drawing from his firsthand experiences, he will offer insight into the realities of life under the North Korean system and the challenges faced by those who seek freedom.
The conversation will also explore the role of North Korean escapees in advancing human rights, empowering fellow defectors, and working toward a free and unified Korea.
Hosted in collaboration with the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chapter at TCU, this event invites students and community members to engage with an important global issue through a powerful personal story. Join us in person for an inspiring journey exploring the Korean Dream—how people move from escape to true empowerment. Don’t miss out on this chance to experience a powerful event filled with insight and inspiration. See you there!
