Kona Orchid Society marks its 40th anniversary at the club's annual Mother's Day Show, Plant and Craft Fair 9A-2P Saturday, May 3 at the Makaeo Pavilion at Kona Old Airport Park in Kailua-Kona. The first 300 attendees will receive a free plant; admission is $2 cash at the door. $20 Early Bird Admission is 8-9A and offers up to 100 attendees exclusive first access to sale plants and a complimentary cup of coffee. Early bird entry is available for online purchase at https://konaorchidsociety.squarespace.com.
Come talk story with local nursery folks and browse crafts by island artisans.
Find orchids from eight different growers: OrchidPeople, Pele's Island Plants, Island Sun Orchids, The Orchid Works, Jungle Mist Orchids, Norman Mizuno, Tim Brown and Michael Sthreshley. Other plant providers are DeMelo Air Plants, Kaloko Protea, Richard's Desert Rose, Bob's Cactus & Succulents, C & T Anthuriums, Pomaikai Plant Company Bedding Plants, Norman's Bonsai, Tropical Abundance Bamboo & Fruit Trees and Future Forests Exotic & Hardwood Trees.
Orchids N' Things will offer plants, hangers and repotting supplies geared to the orchid enthusiast and handcrafted ceramic plants will also be sold for containing orchid plants.
Find gift items from Ka'u Lily Jams & Jellies, Maureen's Black Pearl Jewelry, Blue Cinder Ceramics, Elena's Handmade Chocolates, Celebrate Aloha Jewelry, Made by Mona Resin Art and Maggie Lobo Fabric Crafts. Food trucks will also be available.
