První sólová výstava umělkyně Anny Černíkové Covered in Grease, Still Running rozvíjí představu těla jako stroje, který lze opravovat, ladit a přepisovat. Nová audiovizuální díla pracují s motivy různorodé práce a údržby, jež se proměňují v metaforu snahy opravit nejen věci, ale i současnost a vlastní identitu. Postavy udržující mechanické i digitální systémy odhalují cykličnost a neukončitelnost těchto procesů, zatímco v repetitivní činnosti se otevírá prostor pro snění. Smyčka se stává základní strukturou zkušenosti, v níž se rozplývá hranice mezi tělem, nástrojem a obrazem, a otevírá otázku, zda lze realitu a identitu skutečně opravit, nebo je pouze udržujeme v chodu. Údržba se tak nejeví jen jako nutnost, ale i jako symptom systému, který produkuje vlastní poruchy.
Projekt je realizován za finanční podpory hlavního města Praha, a Ministerstvem kultury České republiky.

The first solo exhibition by Anna Černíková, Covered in Grease, Still Running, develops the idea of the body as a machine that can be repaired, adjusted, and rewritten. The new audiovisual works draw on motifs of various forms of labor and maintenance, which become a metaphor for attempts to repair not only things, but also the present and identity. Figures maintaining mechanical and digital systems reveal the cyclical and never-ending nature of these processes, while within repetitive activity a space for dreaming begins to emerge. The loop becomes a fundamental structure of experience, in which the boundary between body, tool, and image dissolves, raising the question of whether reality and identity can truly be repaired, or merely kept in operation. Maintenance thus appears not only as a necessity, but also as a symptom of a system that produces its own failures.
The project is supported by the City of Prague, Prague 2 District, and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
