An overlocker (also known as a serger) is a useful machine to have, particularly if you are a dressmaker. However, if you haven’t used one before it can be a little overwhelming so we have designed this popular workshop to help you feel confident using it.So bring along your overlocker and by the end of the workshop you will have all the skills you need to tackle your first project.

All about it’s different parts – what they are called and what they do;
What needles to use and how to change them;
What threads to use:
How to thread up your machine (its not as scary as you may think!);
How to use all the different stitches;
How to go around curves and corners;
Simple maintenance and how to look after your machine;
Basic trouble-shooting shortcuts; and
How to understand your machine’s manual.
Skill Level: Confident beginner
Suitable for anyone that can sew basic items such as cushion covers and tote bags.
