Join us for Know Your Neighbor as we dive into real conversations about housing, food insecurity, and how poverty impacts our children—right here in our community. Come listen, learn, and be part of meaningful change.
Special Speakers:
Theresa Flannery is the Senior Director of Social Services at Catholic Charities for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. She will share about their involvement in the Key to Home Partnership, the Encampment Rehousing Initiative and the new Diversion and Rapid Exit program aligning with their mission “to shelter the homeless.”
Neil Tate, the Executive Director of Project 66, will share about food insecurity in our community, including who is being served and the challenges families face in meeting basic needs. He will also discuss recent changes to SNAP benefits and the important role pantries play as part of the safety net for those experiencing poverty or unexpected financial hardship.
Andrea Wheeler is the Educational Services Coordinator for Edmond Public Schools. In her role, she oversees services for homeless children enrolled in the district and other children considered living in poverty. She will speak to the learning challenges that many of our children living in poverty experience.
