KNMA’s Art Hours is creating new ways for Delhi and Gurgaon to come together through art.Make this summer all about creativity and trying something new. We are bringing a series of family & artist-led workshops to UTSAV The Square, GMR Aerocity, creating new ways to engage with art across the Delhi–Gurgaon region.This is the one of many creative experiences we will be bringing in the months ahead.In Collaboration with India Experiences1. Piece by Piece | 18 Jul | Ages 6+Explore how individual fragments come together to create larger images through the art of mosaic-making. Through hands-on exploration of shape, colour, pattern, and texture, they will be learning how individual fragments can be assembled to create cohesive visual narratives. The workshop will encourage experimentation with materials, develop an understanding of composition and design, and offer participants an opportunity to engage with the creative possibilities of repurposed objects through art-making.2. Gelatin Printing | 18 Jul | Ages 16+Led by artist Nikita Gupta, a printmaker and art educator whose practice spans both traditional and experimental printmaking, the workshop draws on her interest in texture, layering, and unconventional materials. With extensive experience conducting workshops across museums, educational institutions, and cultural spaces, she brings an accessible and exploratory approach to the medium.Using botanicals, found objects, and everyday materials, participants will experiment with colour, pattern, and texture to create a series of unique prints. The workshop will encourage participants to expand their visual vocabulary, embrace experimentation, and experience printmaking as a dynamic and engaging artistic process.Artist Bio Nikita Gupta, A Delhi-based printmaker and art educator with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Government Printmaking College of from Art, Chandigarh and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from College of Art, Delhi. The artistic practice is rooted in both traditional and printmaking, experimental exploring layering, found textures, materials and unconventional surfaces. Alongside studio practice, there is over a decade of experience in designing and facilitating art workshops across museums, educational institutions and cultural spaces. The work focuses on making printmaking accessible, playful and process-driven, encouraging participants to experiment freely and discover the joy of creating through hands-on artistic experiences.3. The Art of Etching | 19 Jul | Ages 16+This workshop introduces participants to zinc plate etching, an intaglio printmaking technique in which an image is incised onto a metal plate and transferred onto paper through pressure.Facilitated by museum Educators, participants will explore the relationship between line, mark-making, and image transfer while gaining an understanding of traditional printmaking processes. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on experimentation, they will engage with the technical and creative aspects of creating etched prints.The workshop will encourage participants to develop an appreciation for printmaking as an artistic medium while exploring composition, texture, and visual storytelling through the process of etching.4. Persian Plate | 25 Jul | Ages 6+This workshop introduces participants to the rich decorative traditions of Persian pottery, exploring the intricate motifs, geometric patterns, and floral designs that have adorned Persian plates for centuries. Through an engagement with these visual traditions, participants will gain insight into the cultural and artistic significance of ornamentation in Persian art.Facilitated by Museum Educators, the workshop will encourage participants to explore the principles of symmetry, repetition, and pattern-making while drawing inspiration from the decorative vocabulary of Persian pottery. Through creative exploration, participants will develop an understanding of how design, colour, and motif come together to create harmonious compositions.The workshop will foster an appreciation for the enduring legacy of Persian decorative arts while encouraging participants to create their own plate designs inspired by these timeless traditions.5. Nature Imprints | 25 Jul | Ages 16+This workshop introduces participants to the creative possibilities of using natural materials in art-making. By exploring the colours, textures, and patterns found in flowers and leaves, participants will gain an understanding of how artists draw inspiration from the natural world and transform organic forms into visual compositions.Facilitated by Museum Educators, participants will investigate the relationship between observation, printmaking, and illustration, exploring how impressions created from natural materials can become the starting point for imaginative image-making. The workshop will encourage close looking, experimentation, and creative interpretation while fostering an appreciation for nature as a source of artistic inspiration.6. Surface to Print: A Linocut Printing Workshop | 26 Jul | Ages 16+Learn with us the art of Linocut- a relief printmaking technique in which an image is carved into a linoleum block, inked, and pressed onto paper to create bold and expressive prints. Widely known for its striking visual language, the process transforms simple lines and carved textures into powerful impressions.In this hands-on workshop, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of linocut printmaking from developing a design and understanding positive and negative space to carving, inking, and printing. Through guided exploration, they will discover how a single carved matrix can generate multiple original prints, encouraging experimentation with texture, contrast, rhythm, and repetition.Participants will engage in:- Exploring the principles of relief printmaking- Translating a drawing into a printable design- Learning basic carving and inking techniques- Creating multiple prints from a single carved block- Experimenting with line, texture, and composition to develop a personal visual language
