• Is this a real yoga class?
Absolutely! That said, there may be a bit more movement and noise than in traditional classes – sometimes our kitties like to talk, sometimes they wrestle, sometimes you can’t help but laugh at their antics.
• What if I’ve never done yoga before?
This is the PURRfect introduction to yoga for beginners. Our instructors understand we often have beginners and aim to make classes easy to follow and unintimidating. They often offer modifications for those less experienced and encourage you to only do as much as you are comfortable with.
• Can kids attend kitty yoga?
We welcome participants of all ages/abilities. We have many families that attend our class regularly. That said, we request that any children who attend be mindful of the yoga experience and stay quiet and on their yoga mat throughout the class. Children are also expected to know how to handle kittens appropriately. If participants become too disruptive to the rest of the class or are not handling cats appropriately, they may be asked to leave. We cannot be responsible for children left outside the yoga room. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Are the kittens adoptable?
Yes! The kitties that attend Kitty Yoga are foster cats with Cat Around Town Project (CAT)! That means if you fall in love with a cat or kitten, you should talk to a volunteer to learn more about our application process!
