Out of our own community members' creativity and diversity come our creative workshops, which MiraHaz provides a space for in order to help innovative initiatives enrich our community and let us discover each other’s interests and talents.
This time you will have the possibility to create with your own hands a real good quality Afghan kite, like the ones people make and flying in Afghanistan, where this is a proper and traditional sport in Afghanistan and for both children and adults face during big big festivals and intense competitions!
The Kite Making Creative Workshop is dedicated to all those who love to create with their hands and take a challenge by trying something new. It is suitable for both children and adults and it's a great occasion for families to spend some quality time together!
Participants will get acquainted with a traditional kite making technique and will have 3 hours' time ( 1,5 hours for kite building and 1,5 hours is for trying to fly the ready made kite to the sky ) to practice in order to realize their own personalized kite, with the colors and the design they like most! At the end of the workshop, we all can go to the garden of Philosophers and try our brand-new kites and flying them in the Garden of Philosophers to find out how high in the sky they can go!
About the workshop leader:
Sayed Mustafa is from Afghanistan, but he's been living in Hungary since 2014, where he works for the Artemisszió Foundation/Mira Haz Intercultural Community Space. His mission is to break barriers between different social groups and building bridges between people. He's been leading different Kite Making Workshop for both children and adults in Hungary and many others European Countries...
The workshop is free of charge, but donations are more than welcome...
Mira Haz will provide all the necessary materials and equipment, a friendly environment and unlimited warm atmosphere :)
