Kitchen Design (two-part workshop)

The kitchen is the heart of one’s home, and this two-part workshop will cover everything you need to know to design a kitchen that fits your lifestyle. In Part 1 (Janurary 11), we examine cabinets and countertops—materials, styles, and price ranges. Participants may submit floor plans of their individual projects, and several will be examined in greater detail as time allows. In Part 2 (January 18), we start with a basic floor plan and cover the many variables that must be considered: appliance standards, door and window openings, storage needs, and more.

Instructors Jimmy Douglass and Dan Lerch are a kitchen designers at Boston Building Resources. Jimmy has more than 30 years of experience as a home improvement contractor. Dan's expertise in color theory, printmaking methods, and spatial composition has helped him encourage clients to be confident in their creativity and ability to make the most out of their space.

Workshop Policies

Payment must be made at the time of registration through Eventbrite. If you are unable to attend and wish to cancel your registration, you may do so through Eventbrite, under the following conditions:

1. If at least one week (seven days) or more before the class, we will refund half the cost of the class.
2. All other cancellations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Only those who are registered will be able to attend the workshop (no unregistered companions). Contact us if you need reasonable accommodations.

Audio or video recording of workshops is not allowed.Please refrain from cell phone use during workshops.

Photo/Video Consent and General Release

By registering for this class, I hereby authorize Boston Building Resources to use pictures of me (or my child/ward) taken in a photograph, digital image, videotape, motion picture, and/or testimonial (written words). The undersigned hereby releases Boston Building Resources, its agents or employees, as well as any and all users and exhibitors of said pictures, from any and all claims, demands, accountings, and causes for which the aforesaid videotape, testimonial, motion picture, digital image, or photograph likeness may be used pursuant to this Consent and General Release. It is also my understanding that I will receive no compensation for my likeness or testimonial. If I opt out, I will inform staff at the registration desk before class that I do not want to be in photos.
