Class Experience
It's the most important culinary skill you can learn!
Sharpen your skills in this essential hands-on class designed to build confidence and control in the kitchen. Students will learn the fundamentals of proper knife handling, safety, and maintenance, then dive into core techniques such as slicing, dicing, mincing, and chiffonade. Practice on a variety of vegetables, herbs, and aromatics as you gain precision and speed. Whether you're a beginner or brushing up, this class lays the groundwork for smarter, safer, and more efficient cooking.
Menu:
• Knife Skills 101: The Fundamentals
Proper grip, stance, and safety
How to sharpen and care for your knife
Classic cuts: julienne, batonnet, dice (small, medium, large), mince
• Vegetable Cutting Basics
Practicing with onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, peppers, zucchini
Techniques: slicing, dicing, bias cuts, chiffonade
• Herb & Aromatics
Mincing garlic, shallots, onions
Chiffonade of basil, parsley, mint
Tips for reducing bruising and preserving freshness
Menu: Soup of Chef's Choice!

Classes are approximately 90 minutes – 2 hours
Price is per person, and unfortunately, Sawyer is limited in its ability to register multiple adults for a single class. So if you'd like to register another adult for this class, you must sign them up as your child. Simply choose "ADD CHILD” and enter your guests name and a birthday. This will allow you to register another participant. Price is per person, so it will add the additional cost for the seat. Or you can have your guest(s) create an account and register themselves separately.
