About this Event
Join us for Kiss & Tell Literary Salon this month with hosts Addie Woolridge and Rebecca Hunter. This month we are thrilled to feature, Frederick Smith sharing his new novel, Love is A Contact Sport, and Emily K. Hardy sharing her new book, I Really Do.
About Love is A Contact Sport:
After a rough breakup, gay romance author Renny Ross heads to the Bay Area for a fresh start. His new gig writing the anniversary story for a local university is supposed to be a fresh chapter (thanks to university president Dr. Taylor James). But Renny didn't expect to run into a familiar face from his past.
After dropping off his youngest child at college, recently divorced Brent D. King DuPree is on a journey to freedom, liberation, and living the life he put on hold for over twenty years to raise his family. Figuring out life as a newly out and newly single man, Brent is hesitant about stepping into the Bay Area gay scene until a chance reunion with his first real crush, and the guy he never quite forgot, his peer mentor and tutor in college: Renny Ross.
Neither man expected a second chance. But working together at the same university stirs up feelings that never really faded. Their love doesn't have to be a secret anymore, but will they get it right this time?
Frederick Smith writes Black, queer contemporary novels that discuss MM romance, identity, and social justice with humor and heart. Originally from Detroit, Frederick is the author of seven romance novels set in L.A. and San Francisco that feature Black Queer characters. A higher education professional by day, Frederick does Student Life and Diversity & Inclusion work at San Francisco State University.
About I Really Do:
Brooke Kent hasn't spoken to a single member of her family in thirteen years. That's all changed when her younger brother calls her to invite her to his wedding. He tells her to bring her girlfriend, partner, spouse, or the woman she hooks up with on Tuesdays, he doesn't care who, just wants her there. Brooke would be tempted to take him up on that only she's painfully single.
When she tells her two best friends about her dilemma, they suggest Brooke invite Anna Fourchette, the woman Brooke has been pining over for almost a year. To Brooke's surprise, Anna agrees. Can Brooke really handle a week in London dealing with her estranged family? And more importantly, can she pretend to date the woman of her dreams without falling in love for real along the way?
Emily K. Hardy is a second time author. She's also a mom to three furbabies and married to the coolest woman in the world. You can find her reading too many books at once or drinking five cups of black coffee too many.
