Marla has had mantras infused in her family’s spiritual practice since she was born. As a second-generation Indian American she grew up knowing mantras, but not fully understanding them. When she began to study yoga seriously in 2003, mantra repetition stood out to her as an important practice for the mind. It wasn’t until 2020 that she became certified with the Heart of Sound yoga school in mantra and nada yoga with a focus on Sanskrit.
Now, she leads groups in kirtan, nada yoga, and teaches Sanskrit classes for the yogi.
