Kirtan & Uplifting Songs from the Heart

Join us for an uplifting evening of kirtan—a joyful practice of singing simple mantras and heart-centred songs together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Kirtan is a traditional call-and-response form of chanting that has been practised for centuries. It isn't about performing or having a good singing voice. Instead, it is an opportunity to come together in community, quiet the mind, open the heart, and experience the joy of singing with others.
Our guest teacher, Rāma, has been sharing mantra and kirtan for many years and is delighted to bring this beautiful practice to Peace Place People. We hope this will become a regular opportunity to gather at the end of the week, slow down, and reconnect with ourselves and one another.
Whether you're completely new to kirtan or have enjoyed chanting before, you'll be warmly welcomed. Everything is taught as we go, with the words provided throughout the evening, so you can simply relax and join in at your own pace.
Many people find that regular chanting can help to:
🕉️ Bring a sense of calm and inner peace
🕉️ Improve focus and concentration
🕉️ Release stress and stored emotions
🕉️ Lift mood and cultivate feelings of joy and connection
🕉️ Encourage mindful presence and a sense of belonging
Please bring a bottle of water. Chairs and meditation cushions are provided, and we'll finish the evening with hot drinks and light refreshments.
Investment
We believe wellbeing should be as accessible as possible, so we invite you to pay what you can comfortably afford:
£15 – Supported Ticket
£20 – Standard Ticket
£25 – Supporter Ticket (helping us make future community events more accessible)
Everyone is welcome. We look forward to sharing this special evening with you.
