Kinusaiga (often called "patchwork without sewing") is a traditional Japanese craft where discarded silk kimono scraps are intricately tucked into grooves carved into a wooden block, creating a seamless, painterly mosaic. Modern variations use foam insulation board or styrofoam instead of wood, eliminating the need for glue or sewing. How Kinusaiga Works Instead of using a needle and thread, the image is formed entirely by manipulating fabric tension. Please feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks!
