Kinusaiga "No-Sew" Fabric Portrait Workshop @The Hill Bar & Grille

Dive into a coastal-inspired creative escape on Wednesday June 24th at 6:00 PM with The Funky Squid Workshops at the The Hill Bar & Grille - McIntyre Ski Area, Manchester, NH!

In this hands-on workshop, you will create your own unique 8"x8" coastal-themed "no-sew" fabric portrait inspired by the Japanese art of Kinusaiga. Traditionally, Kinusaiga involves intricately carving wood blocks and embedding upcycled Silk Kimono Fabric to create beautiful landscapes, this labor-intensive process can take days-to-months. For this workshop, we’ve adapted this technique to fit a 1.5-2 hour session using a pre-traced 8"x8" foam block along with a curated selection of modern fabrics. At booking, you’ll choose one of three sea life designs to create during this workshop. At the end of the workshop, guests will add the finishing touch to their “Fabric Landscape” with a thin natural wood frame. No experience needed, Just sit back, relax, and enjoy a bevvie or snack while you craft!

Please note: Food & beverage is NOT included with your ticket, but is available for purchase at this location. We highly suggest arriving 45-60 minutes prior to the workshop if you plan to have food as table space during the workshop may be limited! Workshop Ticket Includes:

• A 1.5-2 hour instructor-led workshop on the selected date, time & location.
• All materials to create ONE(1) 8"x8" Kinusaiga. (Pre-Carved Foam Block, Fabric, thin natural wood frame, and use of tools during the workshop; Fabric colors and texture vary based on the selected design made at time of booking).
• A fun, relaxed atmosphere with great company to craft in!

Please Note: Seating at this venue is community style and based on a first-to-check-in, first-to-be-seated system. If you are attending with others but purchased tickets separately, please reach out to The Funky Squid in advance to let us know the names of those in your party. While we do our best to seat groups together, we cannot guarantee group seating without prior notice, parties will be separated if we aren’t informed ahead of time. -All events & workshops sold by The Funky Squid, are non-refundable and non-reschedulable. Guests are allowed to transfer their reservations or event tickets to another guest of their choice up to 24 hours prior to their scheduled workshop or event. Workshops may be postponed or canceled at the sole discretion of The Funky Squid or the Host Location due to extreme unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to severe weather, fire, or other events beyond their control. Tickets are non-refundable and will automatically transfer to a rescheduled date when available. Refunds will be issued only if no alternate date can be scheduled or the workshop is canceled due to low attendance.
