Many of us look back at our past with shame and criticism. We grow up with these and many other misconceptions and live our everyday lives.
Kintsugi dates back to the 15th century and means “joining with gold” in Japanese. A broken object (ceramic) is glued together with lacquer and then the seams are covered with gold. Kintsugi is part of a philosophy of embracing our flaws and life’s fragility. Wabi Sabi, a worldview related to Kintsugi, is built around this, the acceptance of imperfection.
The crack lines will not disappear from our lives, no matter how much we try. Life will not be the same but what matters is, how we reframe and give new meaning to our life story. With time, we can embrace and celebrate our imperfections and become stronger and more resilient. The path forward might look different than what we are used to but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Vulnerability is not our enemy, but our biggest ally and the greatest gift to ourselves and others is to be ourselves.
During the workshop, we will go through the various processes of Kintsugi – breaking, grinding, joining, gluing, gilding – thereby we will also see our own vulnerability on the path to becoming whole.

Important: I do not recommend the group to people with serious neurological disorders or those undergoing psychiatric treatment. The workshop does not qualify as and does not replace psychotherapy but is a great addition to the self discovery journey.
