Kinship Workshop: NATURE & THE DREAM
About this Event
Overview:
In the welcoming and holding capacity of Epping Forest, amongst the ancient beech woodland, we will spend the day in connection and reverence to the surrounding landscape. We will explore the telling and revisiting of a self-selected dream, before asking the forest for support and guidance in finding deeper meaning within the images, sensations and experiences from our dream we have each selected.
What is Dream Work & Nature Connection?
Dream work is approached from a Jungian orientation. The “dreammaker” nightly gifts us imagery and insight into the contents of our deepest psyche; our role is to pay attention to this material, bringing the unconscious into consciousness. No matter the content, dreams are our inner guide and always mean us well.
Nature connection is the practice of remembering and returning to our intrinsic relationship to the living world around us through somatic, bodily, social, sense-based and cultural activities and experiences.
Highlights:
- Spending time amongst the ancient beech woodland of Epping Forest with simple grounding and connecting activities.
- Collective re-telling of each participants’ individual selected dream, supported by the listening of the group.
- Exploring dialogue with and between the landscape and the individual to explore how nature connection can ground a deeper meaning of the dream in waking life.
You will need:
- See the What to Bring section for a basic overview of what to bring. This is important so that you have everything you need to feel comfortable and prepared for a day in the forest (the workshop will go ahead, whatever the weather)
- A DREAM: Please bring a dream of your choosing to work with, either from memory or written down. Note that you will be retelling this dream in the company of others, so ensure you are comfortable sharing the content. Each participant will have a maximum of 3 minutes to share their dream (this may mean you choose a shorter dream or a section of a longer dream).
