This in-person NYC immersion day helps sexuality professionals move from kink-informed knowledge into kink-aware practice.
About this Event

Knowing the concepts is one thing—understanding how they feel in real time is what builds clinical confidence. This NYC immersion day is designed for sexuality professionals ready to become kink-aware through structured, consent-forward experiences. The day blends teaching, demonstration, and guided tastings that allow participants to observe and (optionally) try skill elements in a controlled, professional learning environment.

Content includes advanced negotiation skills (values-based “why,” nervous system pacing, and consent repair), creating safer containers, role clarity, and how to support client decision-making around risk, disclosure, and boundaries. Tastings may include impact play fundamentals (tools, targeting, intensity scaling), sensory play (deprivation, temperature, texture), intro electro concepts (risk screening, contraindications, communication), and “scene choreography” (start, build, peak, landing, aftercare). Throughout, we emphasize clinical translation: what’s relevant for treatment planning, harm reduction, trauma-informed pacing, and shame-reducing language.

SMART Learning Objectives

By the end of this in-person training, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a 5-minute “artful negotiation” flow that includes intention, boundaries, risk discussion, and aftercare planning.
  2. Apply a consent-in-action framework (check-ins, pacing, safewords/signals, stopping protocols) to at least 2 hands-on scenarios.
  3. Identify at least 3 safety considerations and 2 contraindications for sensory and electro-related activities, and translate these into client screening questions.
  4. Create a clinical integration plan containing at least 3 actionable updates to intake, documentation language, or referral resources.

Sample Day Flow (at-a-glance)
  • 9:30–10:00 Arrival, orientation, community agreements, opt-in/opt-out norms
  • 10:00–11:00 Lecture: Consent-in-action + negotiation 201 (repair, pacing, nervous system)
  • 11:00–12:15 Workshop rotations #1 (impact basics / sensory foundations / negotiation lab)
  • 12:15–1:15 Lunch
  • 1:15–2:15 Lecture + demo: scene container, roles, protocols, aftercare planning
  • 2:15–3:45 Workshop rotations #2 (electro basics & screening / sensation mapping / intensity scaling)
  • 3:45–4:00 Break
  • 4:00–5:15 Integration lab: case vignettes + clinical translation (intake, ethics, referrals)
  • 5:15–6:00 Closing circle + next steps toward retreat

In-Person Safety & Participation Standards
  • Professional learning environment with explicit consent culture.
  • All activities are opt-in; observation-only is always valid.
  • Clear contraindication screening for any activities that require it.
  • Emphasis on demonstration + skill sampling, not performance.
  • Trauma-informed pacing and “pause/stop” normalization.
