King Promise, born and raised in Accra, Ghana, is a storyteller who writes about love, parties and family. He does this to an irresistible mix of afrobeats, highlife, hip-hop and R&B. From an early age, he was immersed in music. His father inadvertently helped shape his genre- and culture-bending tastes: he immersed him in everything from reggae to R&B and boy bands to Ghanaian highlife.
Since he first officially released music via Soundcloud in 2017, Promise's fanbase quickly began to grow as news spread and a huge buzz emerged locally. Since then, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with big names such as NSG, Headie One, Davido and Wizkid.
