Kimberly Hawkey returns to Maureen's Jazz Cellar with a program of classic Hollywood jazz, including selections from her residency onboard Royal Caribbean's premiere Hollywoodland Supper Club.
She will be joined by celebrated pianist from NYC, Peter Yarin. The program will feature special guest Mike Ponella on trumpet.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS:
Kimberly Hawkey’s voice is a time machine, transporting audiences through the Great American Songbook, classic jazz, and golden-age Hollywood. A Johnny Mercer Award winner and Gold Medalist at the American Traditions Vocal Competition, she effortlessly blends classic elegance with full-spectrum dynamics. In an age of digital compression, Kimberly’s performances are vivid, Technicolor celebrations of melody that feel both familiar and fresh.
Whether fronting big bands like the Glenn Miller Orchestra, singing with symphonies, or accompanying herself on piano or banjo, her world-class artistry transports audiences across iconic New York venues and global stages. Across eight genre-spanning albums, Kimberly remains a master storyteller, weaving past and present into a timeless song.
Kimberly is currently featured in “Supper Club” residencies aboard Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class fleet, and in The American Big Band Experience; a touring production co-created with Dan Gabel and His Orchestra in collaboration with the American Big Band Preservation Society.
Beyond the stage, Kimberly bridges past and present as an educator, retreat host, and founder of Visionary Vocalist. Through her sought-after coaching methods and her international community, The Songbook Studio, she empowers singers to unlock their most authentic expression.

PETER YARIN
NYC Pianist and composer Peter Yarin has been a force on the music scene for the past two decades, playing solo and in a variety of ensembles, as well as maintaining a busy career as session musician, composer and bandleader. Peter’s style combines a classical background with elements of both 1920s and modern jazz influences.
Recently seen and heard on-camera in HBO’s “Succession”, “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”; Peter’s recording work has been featured in a host of tv shows and films. Some recent highlights include “Queen’s Gambit” “Don’t Worry Darling,” “The Pale Blue Eye” and “Joker”. He can be heard with 1920’s jazz orchestra, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on TV’s “Boardwalk Empire” for 5 seasons, and on the Grammy-winning soundtrack album for the show; Peter performs weekly at Birdland Jazz Club with the Nighthawks on Monday nights.
MIKE PONELLA
Mike Ponella, trumpeter, received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music. For over twenty five years he has been the lead trumpeter with the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra, as well as previous lead trumpet/ soloist work for the United Nation Orchestra with Paquito D'Rivera, and also with Slide Hampton + The Jazz Masters.
Ponella plays first trumpet with Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks, which won a Grammy Award for HBO's soundtrack Recording of Boardwalk Empire (2010). As a free-lance musician, he has played for recordings, radio, television, musical theatre and film, constituting a wide variety of musical styles ranging from performances with Dizzy Gillespie to Maestro Anton Coppola.
Ponella is on camera and sound track for Michael Feinstein's American Songbook (2010), and has appeared on radio broadcasts with Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion." In August 2013 he was a special guest clinician/trumpeter for a Japan tour, performing his original compositions from his "G.W.B. Shuffle" CD.
In HBO's series, Vinyl (2016), Ponella participated in recording and was trumpet instructor/coach on set.
