About this Event
The Kim T. Adamson Lecture in International Studies has brought recognizable figures in international studies, military history, and related fields to campus since 2001. As the world becomes increasingly globalized and polarized, complicated issues face us every day and building our capacity to have thoughtful and reflective conversations matters more than ever.
Researcher, author, and professor Erica Chenoweth studies political violence and its alternatives. At Harvard University, Dr. Chenoweth directs the Nonviolent Action Lab, an innovation hub that provides empirical evidence in support of movement-led political transformation. Dr. Chenoweth also maintains the NAVCO Data Project, one of the world’s leading datasets on historical and contemporary mass mobilizations around the globe.
This lecture, part of the Kim T. Adamson Lecture in International Studies series, will focus on the topic of civil resistance, which is the subject of Dr. Chenoweth’s recent book Civil Resistance: What Everyone Needs to Know.
There will be a pre-speaker reception at 5 PM, the program will begin at 6 PM.
