Join Audrey Beaugh, founder of Silly Hearts Yoga for Kids, for this 18-hour kid's yoga teacher training. This training will include information on child development, yoga poses and sequencing appropriate for children ages 2 and up, with a primary focus on early childhood and elementary aged students. Whether you are a teacher, parent, yoga instructor, or healthcare professional, this training is for you! You will learn games, music, and mindfulness exercises which can be used in a variety of settings to enhance a child's yoga practice. There will be time for discussion, practice and application. Come prepared to move, learn and have fun! Minimal yoga experience needed *prior knowledge of some yoga poses will be beneficial* More important is a desire to learn and a passion for working with children.
You will learn: *yoga poses and how to modify them for kids *basic understanding of child development *how to sequence poses and a yoga class *how to incorporate books and music with yoga *games, activities, and partner poses for all ages *benefits of yoga for children *age appropriate mindfulness techniques and activities *trauma sensitive teaching tools *skills for sharing yoga with children of all abilities You will identify: *why you want to bring yoga to children *your strengths and how you can use them during a yoga class *types of learners and how to teach to a group of students with varying needs *ways of using yoga with children in a variety of settings You will receive: *support of Silly Hearts Yoga for Kids and other trainees in a private Facebook community *18 hours of targeted instruction designed to meet your needs *tools and strategies that can be used right away in your very own yoga classes! *certification as a Kid's Yoga Instructor *18 hours of continuing education credit (Yoga Alliance members)
