About this Event

About the Program

Kids ages 10–14 will dive into the exciting world of robotics with LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime sets. Over the course of six weeks, students will build and program robots while exploring how engineering and coding work together to solve real-world challenges.

This academy is designed to spark curiosity and creativity while developing teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence. No prior experience is required, perfect for beginners and curious young makers!

What Students Will Do

  • Build robots from scratch using LEGO® Education sets
  • Learn the basics of block-based coding in a fun, beginner-friendly way
  • Experiment with motors and sensors to bring robots to life
  • Collaborate in small teams to solve engaging challenges
  • Create their own final project to present at the Inventors’ Showcase

Each week introduces new concepts in building and coding while encouraging hands-on exploration:

  1. Meet Your Robot – Get to know your set, build a base robot and learn basic programming
  2. Motors & Movement – Explore how robots move and navigate with precision
  3. Sensors in Action – Discover how robots react to their environment
  4. Smart Programs – Use loops and conditions for smarter behavior
  5. Mini-Project – Design and test a creative robot mission
  6. Inventors’ Showcase – Present final robots to classmates and families
