Kids’ Day is a free program designed for children ages 8 to 12.
During this two-hour event, kids will have the chance to go behind the scenes for an exclusive, hands-on look at veterinary medicine and explore the inner workings of a real animal hospital.
Children will have the opportunity to:
-Examine parasites and mites under a microscope
-Study x-rays of broken bones or foreign objects
-Learn about the importance of preventative care, including home dental care, and the role they can play in keeping pets healthy
-Assist a veterinarian with a routine physical exam on a live dog or cat
-Learn how to properly wear surgical gowns, caps, and gloves
-Practice suturing a small wound
