Join our Sunday monthly workshops to unleash your creativity in a relaxing seaside setting. Perfect for both beginners and seasoned crafters.
Join our art workshops and get creative with Gotland white silky smooth grey sheep wool from the New Forest or Quessant chocolate brow sheep wool from Czechia!
Southbourne Beach will be your muse, studio and canvas as Helena teaches you how to craft stunning felted pieces. She will guide you through the process of laying the wool onto carding brushes to create a fluffy, cloud-like texture.
Then, learn how to roll the wool into balls and use single and multiple needles to compress the fibers into hard, durable shapes based on the monthly theme: dog bone, dog ball, puppy dog, dolphin, seagull, sailing boat, pumpkin, white poppy, snowman and Christmas gift.
Once your felted structure, you are ready, let your imagination run wild and create beautiful bird colour patterns. Explore techniques to make dots or stripes, organic patterns and enjoy the freedom to choose your own original ideas.

Helena Eflerová is a Southbourne-based artist and creative facilitator specializing in aquatic art, felted craft, swimming lessons and hydrotherapy for wellbeing. With a passion for seasonal, ocean and beach-inspired themes, she runs engaging workshops that bring together families, children, and adults to explore the joy of making.
Using natural materials like sheep wool and felt, Helena introduces participants to traditional felting techniques, encouraging hands-on creativity while fostering a sense of calm, focus, and connection. Her workshops celebrate the changing seasons with projects inspired by local wildlife, coastal landscapes, and festive traditions—perfect for craft lovers of all ages.
Helena has a proven track record of delivering workshops to a wide range of groups, from young children and families to adults and older people. Whether at after-school clubs, community events, or wellbeing sessions, her person-centered approach ensures that every participant, regardless of ability, gains confidence and enjoyment through the creative process.
With expertise in art for health and wellbeing, Helena designs workshops that offer a relaxing and therapeutic experience, supporting mental wellbeing through creative expression. She is skilled in working with neurodiverse individuals, older adults, and people with disabilities, using a combination of verbal and non-verbal communication (Makaton, picture-based communication, and eye-pointing techniques).
She is fluent in English, Czech, and Italian and brings a rich multicultural perspective to her work. Helena is also an active member of Aqua Sensory, STA, SSLSC, Artists Interaction and Representation (AIR) and the London Arts in Health Forum (LAHF).
