Ride with us, and imagine a city where kids can safely bike from the library to the playground. This bike ride is family-focused: it's a short (2.2km) and slow route, and we'll have bike marshals to help us with safety at intersections. We'll ride from the front entrance of the Central library, through the Dalhousie Sexton Campus, down Bishop St, along Hollis to Terminal Rd, and then along Lower Water St to the Submarine playground. We encourage you to chat with other community members along the ride. Accessibility notes:
- There are no public washrooms at the starting point, as the library will not be open. At the end of the ride, there are washrooms located within the Maritime Museum, and in the Salt Yard on the Halifax Waterfront.
- The ride takes place on paved surfaces, including some short sections with steep slopes (Bishop St, and Terminal Rd). Please keep this in mind for the young/inexperienced riders.
- Our ride & activities take place entirely outdoors, but we do ride as a group and share outdoor public space with many others. Masks are welcomed, but please stay home if you feel unwell.
